Surfboard construction
PU CONSTRUCTION
Polyester or PU construction uses traditional materials and laminating techniques to produce a strong, reliable surfboard with high quality finishes.
All polyester boards are CNC milled from the shapers files and laminated by hand using quality components such as Hexcel fiberglass, Silmar resin and Bennett foam.
For years traditional polyester boards have been at the forefront of performance surfing. These boards feature a progressive flex pattern controlled by a high-grade timber stringer and feel very reliable under your feet. Polyester construction will perform in all surf conditions and can be adapted to suit a wide variety of surfboard models.
SLX CONSTRUCTION
SLX construction produces a controlled flex pattern by combining the versatility of epoxy materials with the added advantage of reduced weight.
All SLX boards have an EPS core with a high-grade timber stringer, which is laminated by hand using epoxy resign, biaxial fiberglass and a specialized construction process.
Featuring a high strength-to-weight ratio, and designs CNC milled directly from the shapers files. SLX boards feel light, responsive and are very sensitive under your feet. These boards are extremely versatile, easy to ride, and can be used in wide variety of conditions.
MOLDED EPOXY CONSTRUCTION
Molded Epoxy (MX) construction delivers structural integrity through the high pressure molding of multiple components. The components being; a medium density EPS core, 5 layers of Fiberglass (3 x deck, 2 x bottom) and a special epoxy resin that’s mixed with carbon strands. Encapsulating the whole board, and forming an outer skin that bonds through to the core, this combination of materials is fused together for over 4 hours under constant heat and pressure. The result is a very durable, well weighted board, and the high pressure molding process ensures that each board is identical to our specifications.
SOFT SHELL CONSTRUCTION
Boards with Soft Shell construction feature much more technology than the eye can see. They are a combination of materials designed to allow the board to perform to the highest levels given the constraints of the flexibility of the materials.
All boards feature an integrated Fin System, 2 or 3 Wooden Stringers depending on the size of the board to ensure the board is stiff enough. A light weight EPS core combined with a PE foam layer on the deck plus a High Density PE Slick that is mounted to a thin PE Foam layer on the bottom delivers the board an awesome feel in the water.
Soft enough not to hurt should you fall on it but hard enough to handle the power of the waves.
